Crack InjectionWhen a crack or cracks begin to develop in concrete, even the smallest crack will continue expanding until the concrete surface becomes severely damaged. Cracks in reinforced concrete require immediate attention as any moisture coming into contact with the reinforcing bar causes corrosion of the metal. As the metal rusts it expands and contracts resulting in undermined structural quality of the concrete aswell as causing concrete erosion. Cracks in concrete structures can often be repaired using low viscosity epoxy resins, injected under controlled pressure. The process not only fills cracks, but welds them together structurally by forcing epoxy through cracks under pressure forming a bond that is stronger than the concrete itself, restoring structural integrity. Gowen Construction’s proven crack injection system forms a durable high strenght bond between the damaged concrete and the new material leaving the structure with superior durability and long life! |
